Tips on how to dress while in the weight loss process!  
  • Hire an expert - hiring a stylist is more affordable then you think and can make dressing for the new you fun and affordable.  A wardrobe stylist will assist you with all aspects of your wardrobe and you will receive great tips in the process.  They will be with you while trying on new outfits to obtain the best look for you, help you detox your closet so out with the old frumpy clothes in with the new and be there for you when you have style questions.  I highly recommend it!
  • Don’t wear baggy clothes.  I definite “no no”.  This only makes you feel frumpy and actually can add pounds to your newly svelte figure.
  • Start with the basics - Focus on having small basic wardrobe pieces such as denim jeans, black pants, and a classic white shirt  that you can add to later as you lose more weight.  Make sure these items are well made and fit you well.  You will wear these many times over but will be fabulous in them!
  • Find a good tailor and make them your new friend!  A good rule of thumb to follow is for every 10 pounds you lose, you go down one size.  Doesn’t that sound appealing!  Your clothes can be altered 2 sizes smaller before you need to replace them.  
  • Accessorize!  Oh yes & then Accessorize some more!!  This can take a basic outfit to a whole new level of style chic and you don’t need to worry about getting too skinny for them!  You will always be able to wear them!  
  • Savvy & Chic - when you are in the process of losing weight, you want to look great without breaking the bank especially since you are more then likely going to have some additional wardrobing needs in the future.  Hit the sales, Target and the outlets and look for clothes that can easily be altered. 
  • Stretch - did I mention stretch?  Look for items that give a little.  Select fabrics that contain 2% lycra.  Some examples would be dark denim trouser jeans, ankle pants, A-line skirts and straight leg trousers.  This will give the illusion of a more slimmer you which in return will give you great motivation.  
  • Accent the positive - always find your best asset and focus on that.  Do you have a tiny waist - if so, look for items that will show that off.  
  • Shoes! Shoes! Shoes!  Indulge a little in a new pair of shoes!  Take a risk and go out of the box a little.  Have fun and purchase something that might be a little different for you but that makes you feel good while wearing them!  Next to diamonds, shoes really are a girl’s best friend!!
